Birdie 53 - Mu si ca.

Me aburri de escribir en ingles, punto. 

Tambien me aburri de la musica que siempre escucho. Bueno, no voy a negar que tengo un gusto variadisimo, desde indie hasta funk chileno. Sipe, claro que nunca me he alejado del rock haha. Los ratitos libres que he tenido me dedique a buscar en grooveshark musica, pero ya me harte :( No les pasa a ustedes? Conozco gente que puede escuchar siempre la misma musica sin aburrirse, y la envidio de todo corazón. A mi despues de unos dias ya me aburre y tengo que buscar algo nuevo. Hace poco pase un periodo "de banda" como le digo yo. Escucho una banda facilmente por un mes sin aburrirme, decodifico la musica, me introduzco en ella, la siento, hasta las canciones parecieran poder representar partes de mi vida. Esta vez le tocó a The Doors. 

Me gusta el rock psicodelico. 

Aunque reconocere que tengo una particular aversion a Jimi Hendrix. Ey, el tipo no me hizo nada, pero me recuerda cosas que me molestan haha.

Alguien me recomendaria algo bueno para pasar a mi Ipod?

Birdie 37 - Rock n' roll bitch.

I thought a LOT about my last post. I've been liking this band for... four years? since mom told me that I should listen the classics, because rock isn't rock if you dont know the classics. And I fell in love with them, and all what they involve, I mean, they were so freakin' cool! A band of girls in mens land, they're totally revolutionaries, they fought against all the prejudice about girls and rock n' roll. And they made it. In USA I think The Runaways probably are very "hip" (or however you say) because of the movie. But I mean, its just a movie, and even if it's GREAT you can't talk about them if you don't truly know how's the band spirit. So hear.

Pense mucho acerca de mi ultimo post. Esta banda me gusta de hace... cuatro años? Desde que mi mamá me dijo que debia escuchar los clasicos, porque el rock no es verdaderamente rock si no conoces los clasicos. Y me enamore de ellas, y todo lo que involucra, es decir, eran tan jodidamente geniales! Una banda de chicas en tierra de hombres, son unas verdaderas revolucionarias. Pelearon contra todos los prejuicios acerca de las mujeres y el rock n' roll. Y se impusieron. En USA seguramente The Runaways estan muy "hip" (o como sea qua digan alla) por la pelicula. Pero, es solo una pelicula, digo... incluso si es GENIAL no puedes hablar de ellas si no conoces como es el espiritu de la banda. Asi que escucha.

Birdie 11 - Royal Music.

Me gustan mucho, muchismo los soundtrack de peliculas. Y me gustan mucho, muchisimo las peliculas de Sofia Coppola. Y sus soundtracks. Las Virgenes Suicidas, Perdidos en Tokio... Maria Antonieta. Todo en esta pelicula es perfecto. Como desarrollaron la historia, el vestuario, los zapatos, sublimes zapatos hechos por Louboutin, la comida que te hace agua la boca... y la musica.


Rock alternativo, New-wave y Post-punk es el alma del soundtrack. Con bandas como Siouxie and the Banshees, The Cure, Bow Wow Wow, The Strokes... Logran reflejar perfectamente el ambiente de fiesta, rock y tristeza que envuelve a la pelicula. Tristeza vestida de seda.

I like a lot, a LOT the movie soundtracks. And I like a lot, a LOT the movies of Sofia Coppola. And their soundtracks. The Suicide Virgins, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette. Everything about this movie is perfect. How they developed the story, the clothes, the shoes, perfect shoes made by Louboutin, the food that makes you drool... and the music.

Alternative rock, New-wave and Post-punk are the soul of the soundtrack. With bands like Siouxie and the Banshees, The Cure, Bow Wow Wow, The Strokes... they reflect so perfectly the atmosphere of rock and sadness that spins around the movie. Sadness dressed with silk.

Birdie 05 - Happy B-day, Lady Gaga!

Feliz cumpleaños, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta! Asi es, Lady Gaga cumple 24 años, y parece que cada vez que uno dice que ella esta en la cima, sube aun mas. Si soy sincera detesto su estilo de moda, que es DEMASIADO excentrico para mi gusto, pero adoro The Fame (que para los que no saben, es su primer album) en especial la cancion Beautiful Dirty Rich.

Sale bastante guapa en la foto eh? Para la cantidad increible de maquillaje que usa...

Happy Birthday, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta! Yup, Lady Gaga is turning 24, and it seems that when one says that she's on the top, she gets further. If I'm sincere, I totally hate her fashion style, which is TOO much for my taste, but I totally love The fame (her first album).

By the way, she looks very cute on the pic, doesn't she? If you think about the incredibly amount of makeup that she wears...

Birdie 03 - Watcha Waiting For?

Alguien recuerda el video de Gwen Stefani, ese cuando aun era solista, poco despues de separarse de No Doubt. "What You Waiting For?" Ahora que ha vuelto toda esta locura de Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas, gracias a la pelicula de Tim Burton, me acordé de el.

No lo encuentran encantador? Bueno, es algo que esta muy en boga ultimamente, pero aun asi lo encuentro genial, si lo saco hace seis años! Ademas, encuentro que el muñeco de conejito sobre el piano es adorable. La cancion en si, es un debate interno que tiene la Stefani, y habla sobre el exito de las mujeres en la industria musical. En primer lugar, nos habla de sus dias en No Doubt, y la decision que tomo al separarse, y en la segunda parte se regaña a si misma, por su inseguridad al lanzarse como solista, y la presion sobre lanzar su nuevo cd. Vaya lio que tenia no? 

Pero mas alla de los lios que haya tenido esta cantante en su blonda cabeza, es la utilizacion del cuento, lo que hace especial al video. Y es que es un tema tan manoseado, pero aun asi siempre resulta divino, porque la estetica y los personajes de Carrol siguen siendo algo insolito y misterioso aun para esta epoca. 

Y vamos, que la cancion es bastante pegadiza, no creen? ME ENCANTA.

Does anyone remember the Gwen Stefani video, that one that she made when she was just a lonely singer, after breaking up with No Doubt, "What You Waiting For?" Now that Alice in Wonderland and all the fanatism for it has come back, thanks to the Tim Burton's movie, I remembered of it.

Don't you thing is charming? Well, it something that is so popular rigth now, but anyways I think is awesome, I mean, she pulled up this song six years ago! Also, the little bunny on the piano is so cute. The song itself its a inner debate that Stefani has, and talks about the success of women in the music industryl First, it talks about her No Doubt days, and the choice she made about spliting up with the band. In the second half, she blames herself about her insecurity of being just a solist, and the pressure about throwing a new CD. What a mess she had, didn't she?

But it really doesn't matter here what were the blond's problems, its the fact of using Alice's story, what mades the video special. Its a theme SO used, but anyways it always is great, because of the esthetic and the Carrol's characters are still something unusual and misterious, even for this century.

And come on, the song is pretty catchy, don't you think? LOVE IT.
